What Does an Airbrake Do?

An airbrake restricts the airflow just before the piston reaches the end of the cylinder, creating a cushion of compressed air that reduces piston impact and significantly lowers the firing noise.

Note: Depending on the selected airbrake length, a slight reduction in muzzle energy may occur.
